Frequently Asked Questions
What Happens On The First Call?
The initial phone call is where I get to understand you and your financial concerns a little better. I will also briefly explain my services, costs, and what to expect if you decide to move forward. Sometimes it may not be a good fit — and that is okay. In those cases, I will do my best to at least point you in the right direction or connect you with someone who may be better able to assist you. This is a no-pressure, no-obligation conversation.
Do You Have a Minimum Account Size or Investment Requirement?
No. I do not have a strict minimum investment account size or investment requirement. However, I tend to do my best work with clients who have at least $500,000 in investable assets and entrust me to manage them on an ongoing basis.
How Do I Transfer My Accounts If I Decide To Work With You?
I make it easy by handling the transfers for you. In many cases, all we need is an account number and a few signatures.
Do You Also Handle Tax Preparation and Tax Filing?
At this time, I do not offer tax preparation or tax filing. I do, however, work closely with your existing tax preparer to make sure your investment and tax strategy are aligned across all of your trusted professionals. If you are looking for a new tax preparer, I have a network of tax professionals I work closely with and can refer you to. And if you are a self-filer, I will often review a draft copy of your tax return for any deficiencies prior to filing and assist with any general questions along the way.
Where Are Client Assets Held, and How Are They Protected?
Your assets are held directly with the custodian, LPL Financial, or sponsor of your investment account — not with me. The custodian is responsible for the safekeeping of your money and investments and serves as my partner in managing your accounts. They generate your account and tax statements and are responsible for all record-keeping requirements. In this way, if something ever happens to me, you can always contact the custodian directly to access your funds at any time.
Do You Offer Insurance?
Yes. Unlike some advisors, I choose to maintain my insurance license to offer those products when they are appropriate and genuinely the right answer — and I typically receive a commission for doing so. In this way, you have one trusted point of contact for both your financial planning and insurance needs. I believe in full transparency around compensation, and you will always know when that is the case. As a fiduciary, your interest always comes first, and I will never recommend an insurance product that does not genuinely serve your situation. For specific products I am not licensed to offer, I work with a network of trusted insurance professionals who can assist in those cases.
Do You Work With Clients Outside of New Jersey?
Yes — I work with clients virtually across multiple states. Our interaction happens over video call, phone, and a secure client portal. My practice is built around your life, not your zip code. Where you live matters far less than whether your situation is the right fit.
What Does It Cost To Work With You?
My advisory fee is typically a percentage of assets under management — deducted quarterly directly from your investment account, so you never have to think about writing a check. For specific situations, I may also consider working on a flat-fee, project, or hourly basis.
I believe fees should be clear, straightforward, and easy to understand. You can find my full fee schedule on the Pricing page, including a pricing calculator so you can see exactly what working together would cost before we ever speak. You might be surprised — it may actually cost less than you think.
I Already Have a Financial Advisor — Why Should I Consider You?
Many people don't switch advisors because they're unhappy — they switch because they realize their current advisor isn't built for where they are now. If you have equity compensation, a retirement transition on the horizon, or a family situation that is more complex than a standard portfolio review, you may need a specialist, not a generalist.
A wirehouse advisor managing hundreds of clients can't give your specific situation the attention it deserves — and they have product relationships that may not always align with your best interests. As an independent fiduciary RIA, I work for you and only you. You do not have to be unhappy with your current advisor to recognize that you deserve better.
How Do I Know If I'm a Good Fit?
If you recognize yourself in one of the profiles from the home page, you are likely a good fit. However, if you are still unsure, the best way to find out is to schedule a 30-minute introductory call. No pressure, no pitch, just a conversation to find out if we're a good fit to work with each other — and if not, I will at least try to point you in the right direction or help find someone who can.
